Here's always what I have considered the distinction to be between IW and Intel officers...
As you may or may not know, there are many different types of Intelligence: HUMINT, IMINT, SIGINT, MASINT, to rattle some off from the top of my head. An INTEL officer has a familiarity with all of these. Consider them a jack of all trades but master of none.
An IW officer is supposed to be a specialist in SIGINT. But in reality we know a little bit about everything else (alot like an Intel officer.) So consider IW officers to be a jack of all trades, but master of 1.
So that's the difference. I would suspect an Intel officer would see things a little differently (I work with alot of them) and I hope you can see my bias, it's fairly obvious.
Oh, and Intel officers generally have a higher opinion of themselves. Us IW types tend to be a bit more humble. Ha!

Your post confirms all of the information I have gathered on both designators. I listed IW #1 on my current application and Intel #2. I'm a prior ET2 and have been working as a telecommunications analyst at the university where I'm completing my degree in information systems. The Intel Officer I interviewed with said that with my skill set, I am a better candidate for IW. Like H60Gunr, I would be thrilled to serve in either one.

3-4 weeks! No way.. I have it from a reliable source that they will be done soon.
Have no date of when they'll be done but I was told that they're trying to be done by this friday. Their a small office and they have a lot of packages but they started weeks ago and should hopefully be done soon.
But if they took 3-4 weeks that would be very bad...For me...
Jeff is just the application processor. He plays the waiting game like us. They tell them when they meet and then he waits for them to send him results.
This reliable source told me this on Tuesday..things could have changed since then, but I pray they didn't.

But Jeff is a great guy and he is a big help. He might be right but the source that I found out from knows more then he does about the board.
But when you have questions about the package and if results are in...I say call jeff..Great guy....Just gets a lot of phone calls.

Nothing yet..... But I was told they have to be out by friday because they're going to start preparing for august boards soon...

Anyone hear dates for the next IW board? Is it quarterly or monthly? I'm trying to get my package done as quickly as possible but I'm at the mercy of my command at this point.
