When I applied last december, the 'competitive' was a 3.0 with straight 6+s. There were a few people who got in with under 3.0, and a lot that got in with less than straight 7s. I think all the 5s were limited to NFO though.
When it comes to LOR's does anyone know what it looks like not to have any officers as recommendations? I don't have any previous military history and don't have much of a network when it comes to the military. For my reference, I pretty much have professors and previous employers with the exception of a old co-worker who was Marine Recon that is willing to write a recommendation for me. Is that going to be a set back in overall package?
Welcome aboard Zach! Yes, the numbers you posted above are excellent. I don't have any idea of your enlisted performance evals; however, your pay grade v TIS, would seem to indicate no performance problems. LORs look good, even better if all, or some of these Officers were in your COC, and are familiar with your character, qualities , and potential. Should be a highly competitive package.Hi everyone, I am also putting in for the upcoming board (Pilot/Intel/NFO/IW/IP). I turned in my package last week and was told that it was being submitted through NLT tomorrow.
Since this is my first post, not just on this thread but also on this site, I have included a few relevant stats that everyone seems to be posting.
Age: 27 (waiver approved)
Active Duty: IS2 (5+ years)
Reserve: IS1 – 2 years (19 months ADSW)
AA – General Studies, CCC
BA – Intelligence Studies; Counterintelligence focus, AMU
Combined GPA: 3.9
ASTB - 7/7/8 - 57
LORs: 2x O-6, 1x O-4, 1x O-3
Clearance: TS/SCI
2807/2808: Fully approved with 20/20 vision
Where you've been stationed, and whether at sea or ashore, will have no negative effect on your selection. After all, you served where you were assigned, because that's where you were needed. How you performed in those assignments... is what really matters. Best of luck whenever your board(s) meet!I have had a relatively abnormal run in the Navy (no sea time or deployment) and am hoping that that fact doesn't bite me on the board. From what I’ve seen just in this thread it looks pretty competitive. . . one can hope.

I am also submitting my package before this upcoming board in December, but I am still anxiously awaiting to go to MEPS. Is that not a good thing that I still haven't gone to MEPS? I practically have everything done except that and my SF86. My OR says he is trying to get me into the schedule but there's limited spots on how many officers he can send at one time and to just wait patiently. Should I worry? Any advice?
Thanks
