depth perception problem

You can take the other approved tests. The waiver guide has them listed (its not a waiver to pass using those and fail the MEPS style however). There are two book&glasses style tests that are approved if you can't see the cheerios in the MEPS test. I have never made it through section A on that test but I can see the books just fine and the docs are happy with that.
When you take the test at OCS you will be tired and likely dehydrated, so keep that in mind and try to stay hydrated. They had the books there about a year ago.
Good Luck.
Thanks Nugget! Thats all I needed to hear!

Hello all,
I also failed the depth perception test at MEPS, went to an optometrist three times since. Initially scored a 7/9 on the Stereo Fly then retook the test with a prescription because my VA is 20/20- & 20/20-2 and passed. Went back again to see if I could pass it without the prescription; the doctor was not in so retook it with another doctor and passed the without the prescription. Then the Navy wanted another opinion, and I passed it once more without the prescription.
At OCS if I fail to pass the depth perception test, can I ask to retake it with specs? (even though I currently do not wear any)

Yes. At OCS you will get glasses if you're not 20/20-0.
They will (at least when I was there) take the depth test with or without the glasses, your choice. If you screw up without them, just ask to take it again with them (in the same sitting, you never want to have to go back as that throws a kink in the schedule).
