Disqualified from jetline

Hey I am new to the site and had a quick question. I am an air contract checking into TBS today actually lol. Two mounths ago I got a letter from the commandants' office, saying I have been diqualified from jet line due to height restrictions(Too short from my ass to my eyeballs). Just wondering if this has happened to anyone before.

I can only fly now the huey, cobra, super cobra, and the ospry(I am also DQ from all cargo aircraft). Dont get me wrong Im not complaining, I would be happy to fly anything. Just wondering if this is going to make things harder or easier for me in flight school or no diff, because I am disqualifed from some trainging aircraft as well.

Thanks for the help guys.

PS I new slighty more about fix wings, as I used to work with all differnet types in the civialian world. Any good books for helo basics. I am talking barney style too.

No, this is pretty common. I'd search for "anthro" and you'll find a bunch of info. Then come back and ask any more questions you may have.

It is my understanding that only NAMI/NOMI can do that when you check into API. I never heard of an outright DQ before checking in.

I may be mistaken, but I believe it can happen on your Pre-Comm, but it isn't the end all determination since you'll get remeasured at API, like you said.

That's a good point. Whatever measurements one might have done prior to NOMI are really just to give one a general idea. NOMI is the final arbiter of all aeromedical issues, including anthro. Don't want to give false hope, but it's best to arm yourself with all the information.

Hmm ok, makes sense.

Don't lose all hope yet, a remeasure can yield different results. It often does.

I know of at least two guys told they didnt fit various platforms at TBS only to ahve NAMI say "no problem". Dont even think about it until you hear it from NAMI in Pcola directly.

Seems to me that if it was only fixed wing it wouldn't have excluded him from CH-46 or CH-53's

The paper said DQ from jetline and then listed all the aircraft I could not fly. The four I listed were all that were not on the list excluding Training AC.

Yeah, that does sound weird, because I was in the Herc community and I saw the shortest Marine I had ever seen and he was Herc pilot. There were also some short chick pilots around the squadron too. Just my 2 cents

I wouldn't worry about it, because once you get remeasured in P-Cola, if you are "outside the norm" they will fit check you in the aircraft to boot. But if you are disqualified from jets, I would say it'll make flight school more relaxing, because you won't be stressing (that badly) about grades.
