i'll tell you why the Quigley sucks...when youre on a boots 'n utes run 2 years later you can still f'ing smell it. this is only one of the many reasons the Quigley sucks; that, along with the fact that if youre 6'3" tall and going under the slanted poles you get stuck. and remember kids...no matter what the SI's tell you, candidates cannot breath underwater

I was enlisted and went trough bootcamp at MCRD San Deigo (1973). While up at ITS we had Mount MF also a 26 mile forced march UUUURHAA.

I was worried the Corps was getting soft but after seeing the documentary last night I realize its still tough just different. It was common sight to see a dink gett'n their grape thumped by even officers when I was in.

it was motivating to see Colonel Chase jump in the nasty... Man, I wonder how motivating it was for the guy who he did it for and for Alpha and Charlie when rumor of the event got out.

I really like how Colonel Chase was in the field pointin stuff out just like any other man. Shows that he stands by what he said about letting anyone through. If he wouldn't trust his children's lives to you, he won't let you become an officer.

It is also motivating because I'll be at Srs and rumor has it he will be leaving after this summer which means he will be there motivating and evaluating.

OORAH!

time for a 5 mile fun run. Be back later

I thought the rumor was that he's leaving after the current OCC meaning before this summer. Oh well, theres rumors for you...

I also liked how he just kinda said dammit and jumped right in there to help the kid along. While I'm a big fan of the Colonel, do you think that he still would have done that if the show wasnt there filming? He made a statement afterwards along the lines of the candidate wouldnt have finished if he didnt run the rest fo the course with him. Isnt that exactly the kind of candidate they're trying to drop? Someone who needs his hand held in order to be able to complete it? Doesnt really make for a good leader.

either way i went an beat myself to a pulp, physically, today... 1.5 miles at a pace id run a pft followed immediately by 3/4 mile bleachers (up each side 2 times and down) followed by a 400 meter sprint and then 1/2 mile of sprint 100 meters then OCS style walk the 100meter turns... with another two laps balls to the wall... i think ill do a similar work out weekly now :devil_125

You could just try running a good distance and pace with a 25 lbs plate in a back pack wrapped in a towel. Hell of a lot easier then trying to remember all the crap you just did.

well... its just
1.5 PFT style
3/4 bleachers (to build hill running muscle)
1/4 100 meter sprint
1/2 mile alternating sprinting and walking 100 meters, so an effective 400 meter sprint

i might try that weight idea though... must find backpack :)

I dont know..I remember seeing him run the PFT with several Candidates and I could hear him motivating them the entire time.

He always stood in the best place on the fartlek runs...right on top of the damn hill! I put everything I had into sprinting up that thing. It always sucked turing that corner and realizing that you were only half way up
