His reply was that he was on leave in North Carolina getting ready to go fishing, and said truck was safe and sound there with him. Ha!

Boy oh boy, weren't all of us in for a surprise come come Monday morning, "The flight schedule is canceled and there is an AOM."
A few months later on the way back from a hurrevac, I made an unscheduled stop at an out of the way airport (transmission chip light). There was an EMS base there with a couple of aircraft and we chatted them up. The mechanic mentioned offhand that it was hard to find replacement windshields for Bell helicopters lately. Uh yeah about that, I think I might know why...
