Drones. Why are these things so difficult to fly? WTFO?

That's because you bought a cheap POS drone. The DJI drones are very easy to fly.
Our youngest gave it to me as Christmas gift…therefore, our youngest is a cheap POS! To his defense, he did pre-brief me that the drone is a cheap POS…I think he stated that it’s the cheapest drone that he could find…something like $20 or $30.
It's not working because you're not flying it in New Jersey

Agree with @Brett327. I have flown the little cheap-o drones and they suck. I now own a DJI, and it’s super easy to fly. Wanna takeoff? Hit a button and it’s hovering. Wanna land? Hit a button, and it lands. Lose your drone? Hit a button and it RTBs.
FPV drones are wicked cool….
