E-6 going away

Still quite a few upgraded H models on AF side! High time H's are being displaced by J. The last of the E models are gone as of just a couple of years ago.

I heard from all the E-6s prior aircrew guys stating that with the new aircraft and the possibility of new duty locations. E-6s could be the new p-8 trend for NFOs. Any actual E-6s people able to say more?

Are there enough to make it a trend?

I’m talking about the amount of people wanting to choice the platform then running away from it. People want P-8s because of the quality life, money, and no ship. Locations aren’t as bad either . If the navy added more EC-130J and move them to two different location that is more desirable (I know that’s a long shot, moving them to Norfolk) people would want them more. My last squadron was my first two sitter aircraft and talking with the NFOs after my selection, 2-3 of them want P-8s but force to fighters (they aren’t mad about it now).

First E-130J TACAMO Airframe in Production

tldr; first airframe delivery FY26 for engineering development and flight test.
E-130J will begin operations from FY 2028.
E-6B remains in service into 2030s with progressive retirement.
Some theorizing on Air Force E-4Cs picking up looking glass and possibilities of more navy focused ops and more common global deployments. "Increased submarine cooperation with the United Kingdom and Australia through the AUKUS agreement will see a higher tempo of submarine detachments to distant locations." "Forward deployed E-130Js could be used to support the operations of these submarines, as well as perhaps the submarines of the Royal Navy and Royal Australian Navy."

I am taking theories with large grain of salt.
