Olmsted Scholar. A year at DLI for language training, and then two years in that foreign nation, earning a Master's. (And an eight year commitment when you're done, but my wife doesn't need to know about that part.) A three year payback tour upon completion, too.

Nah, I hear they have droids that are fluent in over 6 million forms of communication for translation these days. I don't even speak Bocce.
 
Yes, she is aware that PR is a US Territory. I'm interested in attending Keiyo or Tokyo Universities in Japan, though, and that's going to be a hard sell. There are quite a few Spanish-speaking opportunities, though, and that would earn me some mad, mad points with her, considering that she's been nagging me for a few years now to learn Spanish. Honestly, I would say yes to any language/master's program they offered me, because it's that good of a deal. ...And wifey DOES keep saying that she wants to travel.
