The SWO tour for 1140's was dropped. They no longer have to do the mineweeper / junk boat tour. Was a waste of time to be honest. It also kept some guys I know of going that route as an "O". LDO was the best option for officer types.
On the enlisted side, the EOD, Team and diver types all have their own rates now. Beats the heck out of going to some "A" school and then being tested on that rates subject matter to advance. The Navy has been talking about doing this since the late 80's and early 90's. Bout time they got it done.
