Europe under extreme duress

Not Europe-Russia but rather Germany’s increasing dependance on China. 3 interesting articles out this morning:

Here is a funny tongue-in-cheek video done on the Russian T-90 that in light of Russia's invasion has aged pretty well:

Note to self, don't mess around with soldier's pay even if you are Russia.

I like how the Communist Party even makes an appearance.

Well, that is what the reports say so far but a lesson I learned long ago about stuff like this is wait for verification.
I'll just say if you look at the media reporting and Google Maps, that small Polish village looks just like a spot that one would hit if one were aiming at certain Ukrainian targets/cities and managed to fat-finger the coordinates a few grid squares too far north.

Sucks to suck.

I imagine it was an honest mistake. Much like KAL 007. If it was them, there will be various subsequent Soviet statements made, incrementally backing away from the initial position.

Hey , look at that...wait 12-24 hours and get a much more complete and accurate story than whatever the hell Twitbooktokdit knows it is.

The bottom line is still the same though, the Russians are still assholes.
Only problem, in some scenarios you don't have 12-24 hours. Those are the tough calls.

In this context I disagree, unless there is an attack actually underway (outside a war we are directly involved in) taking a step back and figuring out what happened is almost always the better option. That includes almost every significant incident this country has been involved in since I started serving, to include 9/11.

The video proports that there never will be a more efficient way to write down an American adversary - in essence this is a *gift* to be able to fund Ukraine without the political implications of direct combat engagement.

Well reasoned argument and I think its right.
