I received my final select letter via email today, jan. 6, 2010!!!! I was told that prior or currently serving selects are being 'processed' first since they are in the system and since i'm not prior service or currently serving, i would imagine all of ours are being filtered through now since i got word today.

So, as far as the rest goes, i would imagine tomorrow will be your day!

just for the record, i screamed pretty loud when i got the letter

I will be doing NITC in San Diego but my unit is here so I'll fly out from here to drill.

Just curious, do the airlines offer special rate for military reservists who have to fly to drill? I'll be facing an eight hour drive to Virginia Beach every month, so that Sunday on drill weekend is going to be a LONG day if I drive!

Talked to my recruiter yesterday and no word yet. However she did email me on Monday to say that she is expecting to have my commissioning doc's "very soon". I am prior service - who know's how they are processing the commdoc's...

I mis-spoke earlier. When I said they were processing 'prior service' i meant to say "Active duy". So, just so I don't confuse everyone, my recruiter said that they processed the active duty and those currently serving first...and are processing the rest after...which included me in that second category considering I was non-prior and thus not currently serving.

As far as flights, I'm not sure but that's a darn fine question that I would love to know the answer to. Because of where my unit is located, the closest NITC will be in San Diego so they will fly me there to drill for this training. I am not sure what that is dependent on...distance to training center from unit, etc. But as you find out, please let us all know!

Geez, how many DCO applicants can there be who are going directly from an active duty enlisted status to SELRES officer? I've never heard of that happening, not that it couldn't, I guess.

I have no idea....It threw me too. And honestly when I was told that, I thought "translation: it's just taking a while and there's a list so be patient and wait it out." I was simply trying to tell everyone that all of us 'others' were already in the works so their paperwork should be done in the next day or two. But that explains why USAF.Boom got done first and much faster than the rest.

Well, I did it. I raised my right hand today, signed my paperwork and was called ENSIGN!

What a feeling, going from the bottom of the enlisted ranks 8 yrs ago to today, I finally made it.

So I went into the admin and medical office to ask a few paperwork/record questions and it was weird to be called "sir" every time someone talked to me. Felt good I must admit, but I think it will old quick. I have promised myself not to forget what it was like to have a pain in the ass officer around and will do everything I can not to be "that guy".

Good luck to everyone and hope your time is very soon. Make sure you read everything, I found some errors on my paperwork and they had to be corrected before I signed, like the wrong name!

I'm not sure about that. Not only am I not AD, but I am also an inter-service transfer...which requires much more paperwork and effort. I think they are blowing smoke up somewhere.

Chances being, I will more than likely end up in Ft. Worth starting out. I was there as an enlisted. There is some pattern that they are using to send comdocs. We will probably never know what it is. They could be throwing darts with one eye closed as far as we know.

Ditto, but usaf.boom isn't the first prior I've heard getting the paperwork processed through before the most of the rest which seemed to give some credence to the theory. Not that it matters much regardless, within the week I suppose everyone will have their paperwork completed. But I agree, until someone working in Millington, TN tells me otherwise, I would speculate that no one has any idea how it's handled or how priority (if any) is dished out in this process. Nonetheless, I'm just happy that someone sitting at a desk is signing the paperwork.
