I know other community COs definitely get some minimal Public Affairs training

Not so much charm school as a don’t say something stupid seminar is what I’d call it…

You get some good Press training in places like NWC and O5 command school. You get even more before O6 command. Same skillset when POTUS asks you an awkward question. After doing my ICO job for three years, I've got a set of talking points for just about every situation bouncing around in my head that I can deploy with Press, politicians and senior leadership.
