I don't know if I could make that leap of a comparison. The X-32 is/was a double-coyote-ugly beast. The Crusader was a righteous sex machine of a fighter in every sense of the word, looks included; same could be said for the A-7. The thought of that ugly-ass, guppy/hungry goldfish-looking beater on appearance alone would likely strike the most damage to the ego/self-esteem of anyone assigned to fly it.
