For the record the mishap pilot is a friend of mine and I'm still glad he or anyone else were not seriously hurt/killed.
??? Maybe I misread, but gotta ask: Under what possible circumstance(s) could you not be "still glad"

Well if the mishap pilot screwed Mr. Blonde's wife/girlfriend after the crash, I'm sure Mr. Blonde might no longer be "still glad".??? Maybe I misread, but gotta ask: Under what possible circumstance(s) could you not be "still glad"

You'd be amazed what a quality maintenance department can do to jets (any A/C currently in the inventory) that are well past their prime.
Probably the most germane comment here.Expect the unexpected.
Sounds like maintenance and aircrew everything right, and nobody got killed, so it's as good an outcome as anyone could hope for. I take this as good news, not a reason to bash the Hornet.
As for the failure(s), I'd still consider the odds of something like that happening in a well maintained jet to be extremely low. It's the NATOPS check from hell that we prepare for, but hope we never get.
I cruised with a Seven - presumably the same, although I don't think I could pick you out of a croud. Didn't you spell it Se7en, like the movie? Not perhaps the same S.E.V.E.N. I know?
I don't think it's the S-3 transition Se7en who was in 87.I cruised with a Seven - presumably the same, although I don't think I could pick you out of a croud. Didn't you spell it Se7en, like the movie?
Yeah, but if he bought it... who gets his stereo?Well if the mishap pilot screwed Mr. Blonde's wife/girlfriend after the crash, I'm sure Mr. Blonde might no longer be "still glad".
Shit....humor in a mishap thread.....guess I'm going to hell now....
That's the guy I'm thinking of. Sounds like we had two "Sevens" on that cruise though - weird.I don't think it's the S-3 transition Se7en who was in 87.
