I can't speak for NFOs, only pilots, but I don't know of any females who think they should be treated different or special... That doesn't mean we stop thinking of ourselves as female. I'm special because I'm a Navy pilot ;) , not because I'm a girl Navy pilot.
That being said, it's nice to speak to anyone who's been there before you to pick their brain. Everyone wants to know what to expect, and it's a reasonable question to ask for a female opinion on what the experience might be like for another female.

Who here asked to be treated special or different??? Come on man, give her a break! You should at least be able to admit that things ARE different for females if for no other reason than personal hygiene. However, I have a feeling that isn't anything close to what she wants to know about. Just my opinion.

I think the red flags just start to go up when you hear a woman wanting to know about things that are special for women. I mean, for us ignorant guys (at least for this one), it must be either (a) hygiene issues, or (b) special treatment. By special treatment I don't mean necessarily good or bad, just the expectation of a difference.

If it's hygiene, well fair enough, I don't want to read about it. If it is something else, seems like men could comment on it too unless it is something negative toward men (ie. do females get harassed more than men or some other such drivel).

Of course, I could be way off on my two options too, wouldn't be the first time I failed to read a woman's mind.

The only thing that keeps me curious is the mystery of the original post ... what could the super-secret girl talk be about?
