Boiler Up!

Does anyone have any info on the Fighter Pilot Manual? I just checked out the website. It sounded fairly informative but it is quite expensive. If anyone has it, is it worth the cost?

I read the website, and it looked extremely gay. I think if you just asked aviators for advice you'd get the same info this joker is charging an arm and a leg for.

Concur, who is this J@ck@ss and why is he ricebowling the gouge.
A situation I hope didnt happen.
One SNA: "Hey do you have the gouge on FAM whatever?

Second SNA: "I do but I'm not sharing becasue I plan to sell it on a website."

Total BS. I guarantee if you spent eough time on this site you could get all that info for free.

Still... I would kill be able to watch some kid walk into API or Primary on the first day with that thing under his arm. Talk about comedy.

But yes... compiling and selling gouge that's outdated... what a load of crap. Share the gouge or get f-cked... this isn't the AF.

hahah.. holy sh-t... I just looked at that website when you said it was "expensive"
i didn't realize it was $90... who exactly is this guy?

good lord
I'd gladly pass along everything I've learned through the pipeline so long as you're buyin the beer.

I guess it takes all kinds.

The only reason I was even looking at it was because of the advertisement on this site. But, I guess Airwarriors has to be paid for somehow.

Squeeze brings up a very good point- this material is more then likely outdated! And the nuts to charge 90 bones for it. which brings me to my next point. Do you think these guys really care if you select jets? Hell no. I think this dude is trying to send his kid to college with some extra income-

There should be a disclaimer, "The ads presented on Airwarriors do not necessarily; and in no way should be construed, as representing the views of the operators or members of Airwarriors."

I thought that that ads were more of the lines of a joke; Case in point "Who's leg do I have to hump to get some flight time around here." Is that website paying the light bill around here or something.

I don't post that often but this is one of those cases that deserves to be addressed. I'm a Primary IP at WF and I can assure you that there is no secret formula to selecting jets. There is no super secret personality formula or DNA screening. "Fighter Pilots" are not any different than your run of the mill Naval Aviator, i.e. Props or Helos, and anyone who tries to sell you that is a High Schooler or douche bag trying to make a buck. To select jets you have to 1) Work hard and excell on each event 2) Be a good stick, ****ty pilots won't make it anywhere in the Navy for that matter 3) Be lucky. The needs of the Navy change constantly. When I was in advanced helos back in 98' they were pulling guys from the helo pool to go jets. Don't waste your money on this type of crap. If you want to spend $89, buy an hour of flight time.

C'mon DustyDog ... what about the (was it 7?) things that us cargo pilots never knew in flight school? Just kidding.

Instead of spending hours reading this book, spend your time studying the FTI and NATOPS. Chair fly some flights, or if you aren't in training yet, enjoy your last quality free time for a while (sans guilt for not having your face in a book).

Disclaimer: This is from a P-3 SNA guy who obviously doesn't know the 7? things.

I love how there's a picture of VT-22's skipper. He's really one of the best figther pilots? We kind of thought he was a tool in some regards.

Every naval aviator I have known, both past, present, and future, has loved their career so much, that they were honored to sit down with a wannabee and give every nugget of advice that they could.
I agree with all the above posts. This doesn't seem like a naval aviator to me. This seems like some broke ass publisher trying to scrape together useless gouge and capitalize on the prestige of the careers of those he cites.
Those of us that aspire to become aviators are fortunate enough to have the guidance and advice of those that are current or retired naval aviators (just like all the guys on this forum).
What a joke.
