Final Select Purgatory

That would really suck if you had to wait until November for a class date, but if that happened, I would imagine (or I would hope at least) that they would see you were getting close to the cutoff and would speed up the process before it became an issue
and I dont want to be coming off as pessimistic but just didn't know if it's just a matter of slotting us or if there still is a decision (Y/N) as to if the Navy takes us or not. Figured this is the place to ask the question without sounding like a whiny ass, mainly since I have only ever been exposed to the civilian world of decision making. Still learning how this whole process works

also, some of the supply folks had to wait 6 months so it's not out of question really

If you already have your pro-rec, you should be fine, the only thing I've heard of that stops a pro-rec from becoming an FS is a medical DQ, or if the applicant does something stupid while waiting for the FS like get a DUI or something like that.
And yeah, I've heard of a few people that had to wait a ridiculously long time, but I'm pretty sure they were closer to the 20-24 age group, most of the time they'll speed it up when you're approaching max age. It's not in their best interest to make a qualified applicant wait to the point that they exceed the age limits, it would be their loss in that case too.

solid (mental back pat). It's a long, mentally-grueling processes that seems to take an eternity to start and probably seems to end too soon.

Just got text from recruiter that OCS is August 10 for me. I was picked up for pilot in the Feb boards. She is on convo leave, so I won't see final select for a couple weeks, but she was nice enough to inform me.
I haven't heard anything yet, but I was curious: what did you put down as availability date? I am really hoping to get in to the 18 May class, but was also selected from the late Feb board.

Off of the top of my head, I want to say February 1. My packet was submitted as the December boards were going on.
