Final Select Purgatory

I talked about this in the past. OCS classes are first come, first served and contingent on that programs school. For example, if IW school only meets twice a year in February and June, NRC will class up applicants 4 months or so prior so they can attend that class and not having to wait several months and waste taxpayer dollars. I have several of my own applicants awaiting OCS classes, including some selected back in May and June. There's a saying in the Navy called "hurry up and wait" and right now you're in the "wait" part.

Thanks for clarifying for me - I wish my recruiter had disseminated this info, that way I know to wait 4 or 5 months. Also, I, like you, am very well versed in the Naval montra of "hurry up and wait". I don't mind the wait as long as I know what I'm waiting for - before this forum trend, I had no idea what a FinSel or Pro Rec was. I was only told to "standby". Thanks again for your response.

They've been issuing them rather recent, I've received two within the past couple of weeks for my applicants.

Caught by surprised yesterday.... MY recruiter told me I have to wait until the INTEL board meets until I can receive my FINSEL - however, since INTEL was my last choice, the processor said they wouldn't entertain my package. My recruiter has not respond to my emails concerning a few questions:

Any idea when the next board will take place for INTEL?

Considering the INTEL board hasn't met yet, will I have to wait another 4 months for my FINSEL after the board meets?

I was anticipating my FINSEL in the next couple of weeks since I've been picked up for SWO in June - I'll be a little distraught if I have to wait another 4 to 6 months after the board meets...
