My ancestors are Irish, German, English, Swedish, African, Spanish, and Native American - so.... I guess that would make me a full-blooded American.
Whether it be nationality or career choice that you are given a hard time about - I feel sorry not for you (or myself) but for those who have painted themselves into a little corner and cannot escape (those that give you a hard time).
I have it easy, reaper has it easy, enrique has it easy, and all of the others on this forum that our pouring their hearts out to make it have it easy - because the hard part of making that first step has already been taken. The detractors only fuel the fire. So, when we all finally reach our goal of bearing the title Marine, it will taste that much sweeter.
In all the training - OCS, TBS, Flight School (or whatever school corresponds with your MOS) - those that had to really work on getting there will have it made - no matter the pain or the obstacle, it will not hamper them, because it took so much just to get there in the first place.
