Yes duty starts after you get winged. I don't think there's a clear cut civilian career that NFOs can transition to. I hear that a higher percentage of NFOs end up staying for the long haul as opposed to aviators who can easily transition to a civilian aviation career.

I may be wrong. You should ask someone like Frumby, he'll know.

This post is for Frumby. I would just like to knwo what or if there are civilian jobs out there for NFO's when their time is up. I sent you an email, but I'm new to the site and haven't quite figured out how to maneuver around it yet, so I might have not dont something right. Thanks for any response.
