alright...i need some info. i have my flight physical on 2/4 and i have some questions. first of all, i have read info on here that says wear comfortable stuff, like sweatpants and sweatshirts because i will be in and out of it all day. i just talked to my recruiter, and he said to wear khakis and a nice shirt and a belt? also stupid question, does it matter that i have a beard right now? i mean i don't look homeless

Take your recruiters advice, dress nicely. It's not like MEPS where they process you like herds of cattle. Everyone going for a physical is going to be an officer, hence dress that way. They treat you with way more dignity than at MEPS. They will have you take your shirt off for a chest x-ray and you will also have to drop your pants, but for the most part you will stay dressed. When I went i hadn't shaved in about 5 days so I don't think that the beard is a biggie.

you do need to dress nice, you will rep all the officers that so into the marines. the enlisted will be in jeans, t - shirt. listen to the recruiter, i shaved it makes a better inpression on the other men that are there.

Ha ha - that was funny! It goes to show what you mean and what you actually write down don't always go together.

Here's another way of looking at it... Most people that I know, including myself, that have taken a flight physical as a civilian have been there at the same time as active duty and reserve pilots/nfos. Think of the physical as not only a time to turn your head and cough, but also as a good opportunity to meet and network with guys/gals you hopefully will be serving with. They can just give you friendly words of advice, or even better - take you out for a tour of where they work, or maybe write a reference letter for you.

Knowing this - would you want to show up dressed like you just walked off a college campus, or dressed in a relaxed, business-professional manner (with a shave)?

interesting...so in other words...those who have a beard, do not look professional? LOL anyway, i've decided i'm not shaving...if selected, my days are numbered as to my preference of hair and facial hair...

Right after they check your blood pressure you get the 2 lubed fingers in the rear.

Never too early to start checking, I guess. When I got my program entrance physical a coupla years ago (at age 19), I got the full exam -- including those checks for things that I didn't know could be messed up.

Don't wear sweats -- wear the khakis.

Finger Check depends on the doc. My doc was cool about it and gave me the choice (Obviously knowing my answer would be no) and instead focused on asking medical history questions.

Here we're expected to act and dress as Officer's are expected to. If you're going to be one, then you need to start acting like one. Khakis, Polo shirt, and properly shaved was how we were expected to appear at the Hospital
