A wealthy gentleman sportsman in the town I grew up in owned a .416 Rigby that he allowed me to shoot once...took me a week to forget about it. I cannot get my mind around that rifle...:D

I used to own an Army & Navy CS .450 boxlock ejector double. Was actually a very pleasant rifle to shoot. Good weight, VERY well balanced. Recoil wasn't bad at all, more like a strong push.
A friend of mine has a Holland & Holland 500/465 Nitro Express Royal Ejector, left to him by his great uncle. It was hunted all through African prior to WW I, Sure would love to trade him out of it. He doesn't hunt big game, and only shoots shotguns.
A good quality double rifle of any caliber (or gauge) is a work of art.
