OVERCOME

Long live the UFC!
Any good DI quotes?

"Hey Section Leader....... Do you know what relieved of command means? IT MEANS YOU'RE FIRED!! I NEED A NEW SECTION LEADERRRRRRRRRRR!"

"Officer Candidate ******** How long did it take you to make Chief?"
"8 years sir"
"Do you think that you can lead from the front?"
"yes sir"
"The **** you can, you couldn't lead me to the exchange."

DI describing himself "Who the hell needs to run a 6 minute mile when you can pop Achmed's running lights from 300 yards?

GySgt: Boy, why didn't you eat that sausage patty?
OC: Not hungry, sir.
GySgt: Well, how would you feel if you were that sausage patty, spent your whole life growing up watching your sausage patty friends get eaten, and that's all you wanted was to be eaten, but now you're just sitting there all cold. Hell, peanut butter gotten eaten, all the other food got eaten...tell me....how would you feel if you were that sausage patty?
OC: (without missing a beat) Neglected, sir!

----

GySgt: When something comes out of my mouth, something comes out of yours! I don't care if you don't understand me. I can say "hagblahhahagblah" and you better say "hagblahhahagblah, aye sir!"

Lovin' life....
WOW! I am reading all these posts, and it takes me right back to enlisted boot camp. Dont worry about what will happen. Look at it this way... EVERY man and woman in an Officer's uniform has been through what you are about to go through. If they can do it.... you know you can... "just take it with a grain of salt" no worries mate!:)

Combating TIP training AGAIN?!

I am assuming you are referring to OCS. NROTC guys and gals as well as the STA-21 priors don't have to go.

I'm excited, but also a bit worried. The first few months of getting into shape were fine, but now I'm starting to consistently get nagging pains in my legs and back. I still need to improve my running and it's very frustrating when my body won't cooperate even when I only run 3-4 days a week.

Fortunately I haven't received final select yet, so I am hoping there will still be time.

Edit: For the record, it's not the pain that bothers me. It's the idea of not being strong enough at OCS to avoid injury.

You don't want to overtrain before you get there, which sounds like what might be happening with you. Pain (the true kind, not the kind you should block when you're busting your ass at the gym) should be paid close attention to. Shin splints lead to stress fractures which lead to disaster.
