Former SEAL Chris Kyle murdered this afternoon.

This sucks. Of course, until we have more details, no good assessments can be made.

It's on the news here in Houston.
 
Very sad news indeed - true patriot. If you haven't read his book it's a decent read.
 
Since the suspect was a PTSD patient and veteran, it is worth noting that the link between PTSD and violence is not proved and weak at best. Some of the members of AW who have deployed in the last two conflicts have probably gotten some training on PTSD and know this. But it may come as news to most of the public. The media usually isn't factual in this regard. With all the vets coming home we don't need a myth perpetuated that they will be dangerous or unstable, even if they have PTSD, which need not be a life long affliction or even debilitating.
 
The shittiest part about this, other than leaving behind a wife and 2 kids, is that he survived 4 combat tours in OIF only to be murdered on his home soil.
