Not us.. But most the time we are heavy and our taxis are generally short with few lines..Pretty much everyone does. That come from the AirTran side after the merger.

This post isn't relevant to messing with SWA, but is dragging a motor during the taxi still an HSC(Cvw) thing? Lots of the HS guys I flew with loved to do it.Don’t they single engine taxi to save gas too?

Granted I've been out of the HSC cockpit for 3 years or so now, but I never encountered that practice. Most we ever did in the HSC units I was with was start the APU early and stick the 2P with the water-wash.

Not familiar with the mishap but the practice seemed to be no biggie...Once when I was in a hurry due to a rapidly developing case of food poisoning I even shut down a motor during the taxi. I considered shutting down a motor on short final but that seemed like overkill even in the state I was in.I've done it plenty of times bringing #2 back to idle post landing, in fact pretty much every time I'm at an airport I'm familiar with. If I am somewhere new I don't. Gasp, I also take the generators down after the APU is up too. I know, there was that mishap where the guy said that was "varsity" but that dumbass also mistook the collective for the parking break, so I'm just going to say he was a freakin idiot anyways.

NEVER saw it in my fleet squadron (old HC) but many of the HS/HSC(Cvw) guys I flew with on my shore tour did it. I enjoyed doing it because it drove the NATOPS Nazis bananas (I was the safety officer )I'd say about 75% of the pilots from my HSC squadron did it, but that's keeping in mind there was a STRONG HS presence there. Didn't realize it was an HS thing.

Sorry my dude, but you'll need to fill out the proper DoD form before we can continue. I'll get back to you in 5-12 business days......Jet dude’s panties all twisted because he’s not the center of attention.
