Just got word, 1835 ENS (Select) reporting! Over the moon, eager to serve. Looking forward to meeting those who were also selected, and don't give up the struggle if you were not - it took me basically two and a half years of earnest effort.
Anyone have access to the list? Or are you all hearing from your recruiters?

Congratulations! First time candidate, but wasn’t selected for 1835. When you say 2.5 years of effort, did you go through 1835 board previously? Thinking about next steps, but curious if others have applied for the same designator more than once.

I started my application during the summer of my junior year. Then during my senior year I couldn’t finish my application because of administrative silliness that was out of my control. This year it went to board! Technically I am a first time applicant!

As other posts will say, applying multiple times is very beneficial.

Just found out I was selected!

Does anyone know the exact process on what happens next? How long till we actually commission, etc?
I was selected in November of 2021, commissioned in February 2022, gained in June, and drilled in July.

Congrats! First time candidate this cycle, but I didnt get selected, I was an IP and MCWO candidate. Oral Board: 10-10-9-9

24 years IT/Cyber experience and currently an Air Force Reservist as an E-5 and Cyber Manager full-time. CISSP, CGRC, CCNP, CCNA-SEC, CEH, CHFI, SEC+, CASP, NET+, A+

My educational background might be holding me back. Grad degree in Cyber, but an on-line school 🤣
Honestly I don't think your education background is holding you back. What does your leadership look like? Pretty sure that was what was holding me back when I applied in 2019 but since then I have been in multiple LPO roles as an E6 leading many junior Sailors. My recruiter told me I had 10's across the board but was still not selected. I had another person that I have served with that is an IT Senior Chief that also had 10's across the board and his recruiter told him his appraisals were the best he has ever seen. He had 3 certs. Not selected.

Similar to you almost the same amount of experience in IT, but only an expired cert, my leadership was a lot stronger this time around. This was my 2nd time applying. I asked him about the certs and he said I wouldn't go out of my way to compile certs if you don't need them for your civilian job which in my case is true. Previously had the Security+ but I don't work in IT Security, I work in Middleware with a team that supports applications running on Linux.

I did hear they only made 8 IP Reserve Officers and 2 MCWO's in the entire Reserves. Seems like it's just really competitive. Would love to know what the IP selectees had that we didn't, and even wonder if politics comes into play. For example you work with a bunch of IP officers and you are applying. I don't doubt that. It's same thing with Chief every year. Some big mystery. Nobody can tell you what to work on and where to improve.

Are those the current numbers from the Sept board? I know from the March board only 8 IP and 1 MCWO made it.
