FY10 STA-21 Applicants gather round!

Those certificates mean you need a CAC card to access it. Best done at work.

If you read the bottom of the message it says that deadlines for all our paperwork will come out seperately. Maybe because the results were so late or maybe they just don't know yet.

I got into the May NSI class (I look forward to meeting you all btw.) and was just wondering if anybody really knew what it was like. I can handle a difficult class load if thats the brunt of it.

Congratulations to all that made it. Worth the wait huh?

Does the STA-21 Application Status eventually change to tell you why you got rejected?

I like how one of the guys I went to A school with, who used to show up to duty drunk all the time, got picked up.

hmm...So, I was looking at tuition rates and it's obviously a lot higher for non-residents. Is there some type of deal with the Navy so it isn't higher or how does that work? Also, we have lived in California almost 5 years, and I am counted as a resident, but my husband is usually counted as non-resident military, we still have to pay Alabama State Taxes...but he has a California Driver's License and address. Has anyone ran into this issue before or know what to do?

Thanks AW, you guys have all been amazing. I've learned so much, my husband is deployed and I'm trying to handle as much as I can for him and tell him as much information as I can cause he works long hours and doesn't have much time for research.

I'm an alternate. ANy suggestions on what to expect.

You can expect to jump through all the same hoops that selectees have to go through. Get everything done ASAP, and keep your fingers crossed. Good luck to you!

I think you will need to call the respective universities registrars office and ask them how they handle active duty military. From my experience most of the Universities I spoke with treated me as a State resident, but I not sure if that means all of them do.

No, it won't tell you why you weren't selected

Welcome to the real world. Those things happen all the time. Don't get discouraged, keep applying, and stay positive. Persistence will pay off. It took me 3 times to get selected and I feel very priveledged to have been given this opportunity.

Obviously they made a mistake when they picked you up. HAHA! You were suppose to apply 4 times like me before getting picked up.

Anyone know how they make their decisions on which NSI class you go to and if they would entertain changing it.

FWIW, Newport is 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 times better in the Summer than Winter.

I know, but is not about me, its about my husband and 3 kids, and their school etc...think if someone would trade me they would buy off on it? *Plus I kinda like -20 windchill*

Oh and if you happen to be one of the lucky people coming from Hawaii. It will feel cold there, even during summer...enjoy!!

I was stationed in Brunswick Maine for 6 years...I LOVED the Northeast!!! Even in the winter...I am currently in Pensacola, FL and hate it here!!! I am so happy to be leaving early! :D

I am from Northeastern PA, but 4 years in Pearl made May in Newport weather feel 10 times colder then it was.
