So for those of you that say you have a perfect package, what exactly is a sure thing? Also, how many people actually saw their board write-ups? Im really just curious if people have packages sent in with marks less than a 10 on the interview sheets.

Two of my internal board member gave me some 8's and 9's but nothing lower. One was a pretty poor write up....not negative but you could tell he was not on board with me. My internal board consisted of 2 LTs (Ops and another Dets OIC) and one LCDR (XO). My XO's was the poor appraisal sheet but he still stated it as a favorable recommendation.

My nomination review board was a full bird captain (CO) and 2 commanders (a CSO and an Ops) Two of them were pilots and one was a SWO. They gave me straight tens with extremely strong write ups.

Also my CO's endorsement was extremely strong. I contacted me prior XO who left a few weeks prior to my board who gave me a LOR which hopefully will hold weight against our current XO. Unlike last year when I knew my board members, I had spoken with these maybe on one or two occasions prior. We have had a wave of new officers come in due to all the plankowners leaving.

I am not overly concerned because I was an alternate last year with 8's and 9's and my package is loads better this year.

One of my good friends got off his tail and applied this year, so I'm sucked back into the vicious cycle of checking this thread. Good luck to all, and have fun in that goose-crap laden field in Newport. :D

My MO told me not to accept the results til next week. I didnt get into how he knows, but he said that i could relax til next week, the results wont be out til then. so many rumors...

Honestly i would accept the results any time. But not sure when to expect them. Might be some bad gouge. lol
