You guys, we started a thread for stats. No need to post here. I feel you pain though, after tommorrow it will literally be any day. I will stick with my 17th. Also, stats are good, I posted mine, but the board may be looking for something totally different for each field.

I doubt it. Stats are lookin pretty good, best of luck to you. You mention that your a one man show. I had three HR's on my external baord and they all harped on how being an HR can be mostly independent work. Did you put that in your PS at all? Being a YN2, you already have your foot in the door.
Nope, the only HR officer on my boards was my XO, he didn't mention anything about HR's being one man bands. I used all the room I had on my PS talking about how I became a father at 16 and got a job and took care of my kid and my girlfriend and learned responsibility and junk blah, blah, blah.

I attended an LDO breif recently. The Capt giving the breif said those heart felt statements, "the ones that make you hum Anchors Away" are the best. As long as you hit all the requirements, I think writing it like that is the way to go. LDO is different than STA-21 but at the same time, what people really feel when you read a PS doesn't change.

Well the NAVADMIN announcing the FY-12 STA-21 program states:

"SAILORS MUST ADDRESS ANY HARDSHIPS OR UNIQUE EXPERIENCES THAT SHAPED THEIR

CHARACTER AND JUNIOR SAILORS SHOULD PROVIDE INFORMATION ON HIGH

SCHOOL EXPERIENCES."

Becoming a Dad at 16, taking responsibility, marrying my girlfriend and raising my kid is a hardship that is pretty unique and very much helped shape my character, so I made sure I put it in my PS.

Saw that everyone is guessing at the day of the results so I want to give my guess/scenario. Simply for the sake of coincidence I'd like to guess that the results will be released on the 24th.

My schedule for October 24th:
0600 - Run the PRT
0700- My wife's immigration interview appointment with the Embassy
0900- Afloat Training Group (ATG) 4 day inspection commences for my department. . . I play a huge role
1130- STA-21 results released??? (I get selected?!)
2130- Cardinals win game 5 of the World Series??? (Go Redbirds!)

Just kind of cool to think that this all could happen on the same day. Hope the results come sooner though!

Another day down and still my future is uncertain. Sometime in the next week I'll find out if I'm selected (doubt it, out of command interview went bad, and no time for another). and I'm almost out of PTS looks. Maybe I'll see some of you guys at ERAU after I get out. 1 year of school and I'll be able to apply to OCS for all the branches anyway. I wish everyone the best of luck.
