Video of the rollout ceremony for the first G650:
http://www.gulfstream.com/live/g650rollout/

The video is very long and has no controls for skipping ahead so only watch it if you've got about 45 minutes to kill and are very interested in business aviation. It's one bad-ass ****in' airplane, though I'm probably a little biased.

The first fly-by-wire system of it's kind, and lots of troubles through the design process. I wouldn't be the one volunteering for those initial missions, and I know it's an internal joke in Savannah that everybody is volunteering each other. I'm sure everything will be fine :) Gorgeous jet with amazing range and speed.

They just keep making the venerable Gulfstream line ever better

It's always been a toss up in my mind over what biz jets look better...Gulfstreams or Dassault Falcons. Both are pretty damn slick.

Embraer has taken a nice chunk of the market with sleek offerings as well. I'd be happy with any of them.

Which looks better?? C'mon, no contest.. just look at the windows... THE WINDOWS!!

As to the fly-by-wire system, I would need some clarification as to what you mean by "lots of troubles". I worked hand-in-hand with the design team by facilitating the simulation testing of it... and I can't say that there were any significant problems. Normal tweaks/hiccups here and there, mostly to the control feedback forces, but that's the whole point of testing a system before it goes into production.

Sleek-looking aircraft, but if/when I get the $$$, I think I'll just spring for a Boeing 767. Not as slick-looking, I am guessing not as fast either, but very luxurious and roomy :)

Yes, but how much to operate a 767 versus the 650? ;)

My friend used to take me fishing with Wayne Huizenga Jr. and we would either fly out to wherever the boat was in one of his Gulfstreams or his BBJ (he had 2). Wayne said that dollar wise it was actually not all that much cheaper for him to fly in the Gulfstream than the 737. So 5 of us took a BBJ 737 to San Salvadore and I got to ride up front for takeoff and landing...:D

Personally, I've always been a fan of the Piaggio Avanti P-180

Those things look like a catfish had sex with a turd. They sound like the act of said conception, too. Fast and thrifty, though!
