George Carlin dead at 71

I saw him live at a little club in San Diego called "Funky Quarters" in 1972, just as he was emerging as the George Carlin that we all knew and not the "Al Sleet, the Hippy Dippy Weatherman" persona that he had before.
He WILL be missed, big time.

On my looong PCS ride today, and believe it or not, NPR had a great piece on him. It was mostly a compilation of one on one interviews that he had done over the years. I never knew it, but the guy was strangely, truly a genius.

...And all golf course should be made into old folks homes....well maybe just half.

Saw him live in Vegas and in Pensacola. The Vegas show was awesome, but at the P-cola show he was just going through the motions--he actually read part of his act from a notebook. Still, he was a comedian with balls, unlike some out there today.
