Got air contract

Does anyone know if you can change from ground to air contract at TBS???

James

From what I've seen of the typical TBS MOS quality spread, they give out about 1 NA and 1 NFO slot per company. I haven't been to TBS yet, nor do I speak the gospel truth, but this is what I've seen on the TBS website.
Other than that I have no idea on going to air.

This Candidate?

MH - you said you were going to go down today (to the office). Any news?

Had some serious school censored get in the way and I didn't get to go down to the office. So I will have to wait until next week. Its all good, either way, I just much prefer NA vs NFO. Which Im sure the captain can change since I've yet to commission (but i am close! oorah!)

EDIT: the way you dont know what you are contracted as is this. At the time I didn't know of a NFO and a NA designation. I just figured AIR contract meant I'd get to fly, thus why this forum rocks. I now know to check for it. I was so excited to get contracted, you could have told me I was gonna do underwater basket weaving for the Marines and I would have been peachy.

This Candidate... try missing the little bit of info of using SNC instead of 'This Candidate.' Yep, I missed that but luckily it never bit me in the arse

We all knew what to use it for, I think it was about a month before someone in my platoon figured what the hell SNC actually stood for.

Sounds like the Marine's have got a "Captian Ron" on their side? haha. Inside joke btw:icon_smil

uh, alright... yay for public forum inside jokes?

I have yet to see my orders to go back to OCS :(

And I called the office today and the guy that does all the candidate pay and paperwork told me that my paperwork designates me as a pilot. I had to call anyway to let him know I got paid hella fast.

Anywho, time to go do my taxes :) Hoping for a big return to get some bate lights

Mine didnt get torn up, but did anyone else get a black stain on the top of your boot from stepping the rope onto it? I got a big one but it scrubbed right out.

I heard the Bates lights get torn up real easily on the O-course ropes. Anyone know about that?

bates are going to be for the humps and inspection (assuming i dont dirty them up too bad from the humps)

my jungles and ICB are all discolored due to the quigley and that other nasty night course... IMC, i believe

I didn't have good boot rotation and such so both got messed up a bit. I'll very likely PT in the ICB since i like those and go to class in them... i like how the heavier boots increased my strength and such...

im going to throw in my two cents here...i love bates lites. they take years off run times, but for ropes...ive found the soles dont grip the rope very well since theyre made out of that high speed "foam" sh*t. but, then again everyone has their own opinions. as for them tearing up, mine are holding up swimmingly...since OCS in 2005

I agree. They dont have the sharp edge to "cut" into the rope. The first few times we climbed the rope I still have on my lites from earlier in the day. I spent so much time climbing it with those that I got used to it. So it can be done, but when I finally had the other ones on it made a huge difference. I still ended up using them for the E-course because that initial run just flat out kicked my a$$. Downsides were the rope (as mentioned above) and also on those obstacles where you had to balance. You didnt have quite as strong of a grip on the ground. For example, the zig-zag log crap right before you're about to enter the Quigley.
