Here's another 'GREENIE BOARD' ... a pretty basic one w/ no 'artwork' for the VA-46 'CLANSMEN' flyin' A-4E's in the late '60s ... the colors are similar to what I described earlier (green, orange, etc., although somewhat washed out in this example).......

I think there might have been a lot more color back then than today - smaller decks, 27Cs, no ALCS, no HUD, faster approach speeds, pitching decks, some aircraft very difficult to land (F-8, RA-5C, A-3, and even the F-4 with its 140kt approach speed) walking to the flight deck uphill both ways, with no shoes, in a perpetual blizzard. You young'uns don't know how easy you have it.
The VRC-30 greenie board uses beer bottle caps for the type of passes. Not only do you have to fly, but you have to drink!
