I'm still hoping for SDFS's to be approved. Service Dress Flight Suit. It is the same as your everyday flight suit but only cleaner. Maybe a touch of polish on the boots and a cover with no sweat stain on it.

Here's a good question:

How the fvck do you get the sweat stain out? I've washed the damn thing like 3 times almost in a row, and it is still there. Spray n wash? vinegar? Have to get it dry cleaned??

I believe the answer is: Who cares?

Buy one cover for your khakis and one for your flight suit. I never really had a problem w/ a sweat stain, washing it usually worked. Grease is a much more insidious hitchhiker. That and the accumulation of wholes on the rank side starts to become an issue, as well.

not sure if it's the same for everyone, but my cover says dry clean only on the tag. they've done good work whenever I get it dirty.

I thought the sweat stain was supposed to be there. I've purchased a new cover... once. Besides, it makes you look..... salty.

If you're using the cotton cover (which technically you should be using) with your flight suit, then you don't have to get it dry cleaned, and you can stay ahead of the stain developing. Or, you could just wash the grease out of your hair every once in a while... I mean, that's just gross.

Peroxide maybe?? Works for blood, perhaps sweat as well.

The grease on my cover isn't from my head. This isn't he AF, our stuff is dirty and leaks.

You guys crack me up. :D

Grease/sweat on your khaki piss cutter that won't come out ??? Buy another one.

Or ... if you don't like that: have two -- one for flyin' and one for "lookin' good" ... :)

And you can't get sweat stains out of the flight suits ??? What in the hell are they makin' them out of these days ???

Perhaps if you guys ate better you wouldn't stink so much ... ???:)

In the spirit of passing down hard learned lessons, a suggested menu for eating just prior to flying is provided in the enclosed pix ... please note Air Ops snack bar menu from another day .... Chez Chase blue-plate special style:

I took nail polish and applied it to the area around where the hole is... put the devices on, let dry. Forms a nice permanent hole that has survived over 2 years of washing... and I don't have to measure anything out to know it's correct.

I was referring to switching from single, vertical bars w/ the pins being vertical to double bars where the pins are horizontal, and then back to (god forbid) oak leaves w/ vertical pins.

Again, not a big deal to just buy a new one, but the plethora of holes does start to become noticeable.
