Ha ha ha ha nope.. And the 60 does it poorly.Scale up the CMV22 to do minesweeping?
HM-15 man’s both the South Korea and Bahrain dets now. They absorbed a number of personnel and aircraft when HM-14 stopped flying a couple months ago.So out of curiosity, since there's only one HM Squadron left in the fleet that's not the FRS, what does a modern HM deployment schedule look like? Individual dets/aircraft to USNS? Shore based hot spots near congested shipping lanes? I really have no frame of reference for what that's supposed to look like.
Sadly there is no master plan, or at least not one communicated to those of us in the fleet. We know 2023, 2025, 2027 (to shut down HM-14/ 12/ 15 respectively) but that’s it right now. As I understand it they are still selecting 53s at South Field. Frankly with a sunset day in sight I think it makes far more sense to bring back those of us who used to fly the Dragon to sunset it (vice sending brand new folks there) but we are desperately needed on the boat lol. Extremely frustrating.Probably a combination of all of them with ISTs being the least likely. They will get their disassociated tour out of you if I had to guess!
Some have already done some swaps to HSC and I have to assume VRM as well.
No, something even more vital Combat Support/Logistics. I'm in the club of believing mine sweeping with a Helo was always a marginal mission set.Scale up the CMV22 to do minesweeping?
Tell that to CENTCOM.No, something even more vital Combat Support/Logistics. I'm in the club of believing mine sweeping with a Helo was always a marginal mission set.
Well saidMCM is a mess. The Avengers class and 53s are tired, but their replacements are a mess. If you're a nugget in HTs reading this, don't go there. To folks in the community, I hope you land on your feet, but CNAF doesn't have your interests in mind.
I just read that the Navy trained their last two -53 types…the pipeline is closed.HM-12 is set to decommission on March 21st of this year.
