As of 6 months ago there were still new Marines checking in for VT86 jet training, but I don't know if they stopped selecting them in TBS/ROTC. I do know at one time they knew exactly what number they were i.e., "I'm the 3rd last marine NFO"Just checked back here, surprised the thread is still going! Life took a different direction on this end. Hoping to have a Navy career unrelated to aviation but that’s for another sub-forum. Unrelated but does anyone know if the NFO pipeline was closed for Marines?
To my knowledge they've stopped selecting them for the OSO and NROTC and I'm pretty sure the Academy. As of 6 months ago there were still new Marines checking in for VT86 jet training, but I don't know if they stopped selecting them in TBS/ROTC. There was 1 Marine NFO in my API class (graduated April 2019) and there were some people referencing him being the last one. But who knows if that's actually true or not.Just checked back here, surprised the thread is still going! Life took a different direction on this end. Regardless it’s sad to see it go the way of the balloon pilot. There was 1 Marine NFO in my API class (graduated April 2019) and there were some people referencing him being the last one. But who knows if that's actually true or not.
