I have a couple of questions about this process before presenting this to my recruiter. I apologize if this would be considered bumping a dead post, but I'm at a loss on how to deal with MEPS.
My package is complete sans MEPS; they won't grant me a physical due to missing one piece of paperwork, a document showing physician diagnosis of ADHD. I have documents from the diagnosing psychiatrist showing severity, DSM diagnosis guidelines, and age of diagnosis. I have documents from my general care physician regarding the date I began medication, and the day of my last refill, as well as a check up stating my function off medication. I have full pharmaceutical records showing all prescriptions and refills, as well as exact dates in regard to when they were filled. The only document I can think of that MEPS wants is the questionnaire filled out by my parents, teacher at the time, and the diagnosing physician. However, no one has these documents. The only reason I have the paperwork I have is because my parents requested and saved copies of anything medical as it occurred. I know that one must be off ADHD medication for 2 years prior to signing up, and I have been off of ADHD medication for almost 6 years, so I know that's not the problem.
So my biggest question would be is this process of going around MEPS still canon?
Is this process something I "qualify" for?
Would my recruiter understand what I'm talking about?
Being that this is a Navy process, would I need to go to a Naval medical center, or can I go to an Army hospital?
Being that I'm a dependent, with a valid military ID, would I still need my recruiter to accompany me through the process?
Is this something where I would go through my current primary care physician(Army) for?
From my understanding, this gets you into MEPS, instead of taking place of the MEPS physical?
Thank you so much for your help. Lurking Airwarriors has helped me through the OCS application process more than I can express, and has been a huge motivator.
