I get the funny feeling we're forgetting something....

Good Grief !!!

Falls asleep while on a "Combat Patrol". The way the article reads they weren't there for more than a day probably a few hours on station what was he thinking being in a "unfriendly" neighborhood.

With the way the Isreali's look at things like that I'm surprised they didn't just leave him there for dereliction of duty
 
The article says his squad mates answered for him at the initial roll call...Sounds like he was the joboy of the group...
