Yes and no. In OCT '06, NIACT was taught by DI's - all reservists (exc. 1 former Corpsman, turned AD Army), all former boot camp DI's, and all SH to a man (and one kinda hot woman who always had a giant chaw in). NIACT atmosphere gets you the DI mentorship piece, without the harrassment package.
It plays to the least common denominator in terms of pace of the training (gotta cope w/ E-4 and below, and O-4 and above, minimum slope learning curves

) and scope of training (
you may only be going over to man a desk, but the junior enlisted kids heading over to
drive convoys NEED ALL THE COMBAT SKILLS THEY CAN SOAK UP!!!).
There's also lots, and I mean
LOTS, of hurry up and wait. But if you like camping and guns, or relish the kind of experiences that most of your high school buddies will never get, NIACT is a blast, and Udairi is even better.
