I would say call flight management and find out when you can start up. The time off is nice, but if you are like me, you want to get into the fight as soon as possible. Sitting on Pensacola beach is nice, but I would rather sit on a foreign, tropical beach collecting per diem instead!

I can vouch for that. Having chilled on the beaches of Okinawa, Guam, and Australia collecting damn good per diem, I would recommend it to anyone. :D

I am reading about ROTC guys that are knocking out IFS near their schools. If I am USMC PLC, commissioned, and waiting for TBS, could I do the same at a FAA certified school nearby? If not, I'm not too worried about it.

Edit: Disregard, I just read the cans and can'ts on CNET. However, I could always get some stick time here first: http://www.stallion51.com/

IFS is now only conducted near Pensacola, Quantico or Annapolis

Has anyone ever heard if it was possible to do IFS then TBS? I only ask because they are saying air contracts that recently commissioned may not pick up with TBS until Sept/Oct.

A few more interesting things that I can remember from our PSD brief:

-I think single SNAs can only get transient BAH (with follow on orders), or per diem (no follow on orders)

-PCS move is for those with follow on orders to Whiting only, like Morgan said

-SNFOs get a PCS move and full BAH

See here for all the BAH fun.

I did. That was in late 05.

They'll give priority to TBS-complete LT's, but as recently as a year ago they were doing it for LT's waiting for TBS. SWAG is that they're still clearing the backlog of TBS-complete LT's without IFS up at Quantico. Since the logjam is about clear down here at Pensacola, it may be cleared up there in time for you.
