Basically what's in the title. It's tough to simply say things like "politics aside flying unsafe a bad thing" because right now, everything can be interpreted as a partisan opinion because of our current political climate. I'm glad it seems the blues allegedly took care of some stuff in house, but if that jet did CFIT into the beach it could have been an accident for the ages in a year with multiple Class A mishaps already. Even with the jet not hitting the beach, a large proportion of the people there probably thought things like "well they can't go THAT low, I dont have to worry about getting sandblasted, jet washed, etc."
I'm not in the community that does these kinds of things so I don't have any first-hand feedback about "well my pilots think it is ok or not." Especially with the infamous B-52 crash about the reckless pilot with a long history, I do think we are not too far off from a lethal maneuver done recklessly, washed away with "aviation is a dangerous business, thoughts and prayers" rhetoric.
