Information needed on NAS Cecil Field, FL

Old guys (of which I'm one) don't like to change things! In fact, we fear change!!
Hence the ol' adage...."if it ain't broke, don't fix it!"
When the PRs told me that they'd like to "convert me to a new fangled SV-2" in place of my tried and true -380 mod, I about had a kin-ip-shin!

Lites retired seven years ago and photo was taken prior to that so it could be over 10 years old.

Did anyone else look at this and wonder if Lites = Ned (a.k.a. Check Six)?

Lites was doing self portraits like that as far back as 1983 when he was flying the A-7. He pretty much had it down.

Just saw Lites yesterday at Pax during PMA-265 CoC. I asked him about "Ned" and he said that is his daughter's nickname so mystery solved.

Hey all,
Can anyone here tell me if NAS Cecil had a FCLP area on one of it's runways? I see references to one at Whitehouse all the time, but am sure Cecil also had one. If it did, I need to know which runway, so it can be added to the scenery being created for Microsoft's Flight Simulator.

Wow! Pete that's just amazing... I see hanger 67, and "B" circle, and some new buildings that weren't there back in my day. This just looks great! I was a ground pounder, but I only hope some of the aviators here can give you a hand. There's an IP I served with, his name is Jim Karg, I did have his home phone, I'll see if I can dig it up and give hime a call for you. He'll have some info I'm sure.
Again, looks great, took me back in time.

A few things missing Pete... (all VA-44) The "Ordie" shack was the first shack on the left behind "67" the the GSE shack next, then the Line shack, followed by the Tool crib, then the Riggers. VA-45 had a shack next in line as well, but I think it was just for storage. They used space in the hangar for everything else. The shacks weren't more than about 25 feet behind "67" and didn't exceed the length of the hangar

I will try to fix things like the building you mentioned. The guy who is actually creating this scenery right now, however, needs to know if Cecil did have a FCLP, and if so, which runway. I plan to add/delete to the scenery after he gives it to me.....Pete
