Just wondering..
I took the ASTB paper version last week and have been trying since last Friday to get a hold of someone for my results. I tried the phone number listed on their website ( http://navmedmpte.med.navy.mil/nomi/nami/astb/faq.cfm ) at least 10 times. I left a message for whoever is at the extension listed and emailed the scores@nomi email address, but haven't had a reply. I also tried my recruiter, no response from him either.
Most of what i've heard is that it takes about 5 business days to get the results, and while today is only the 5th, it'd still be nice to talk to someone and have them tell me the results aren't in, rather than waiting without a clue. Test results are one thing I have no patience waiting for, and these numbers will have a big impact on my future, so I just wanna know!
But anyways, I guess i'll take this moment to bitch about the test. My 'Aviation Supplemental' test was nothing but reading, which is my worst of all of the subtests. So that was a nice surprise, and hopefully didn't hurt me too much. Can anyone comment on if this is common for that section? If I end up retaking, I hope it's not that again. The math section is the only one I didn't finish in time, having to guess on 2 or 3. Those 2 or 3 were ones I had skipped because I didn't know how to do them, so I probably would have ended up guessing anyways. Mechanical was fairly simple, but they threw in a few unexpected questions, something about turbines. There was only a few I wasn't sure on, but I at least had an educated guess. Aviation/Nautical wasn't bad, again there was 2 or 3 that I just didn't know, mainly because it's nearly impossible to study for every possible question. Spatial apperception was easy, very similar to the arco but with much more diagonal out to sea / along coastline questions. If you have a system ready you should do fine. I finished all sections but math with at least a minute to spare to look over my 'unsure of' questions.
But thats about it, i'll post some more gouge once I figure out if my scores are actually high enough for me to permit doing so.. Whenever that may be.
