Is everyone at NOMI dead?

Just wondering..

I took the ASTB paper version last week and have been trying since last Friday to get a hold of someone for my results. I tried the phone number listed on their website ( http://navmedmpte.med.navy.mil/nomi/nami/astb/faq.cfm ) at least 10 times. I left a message for whoever is at the extension listed and emailed the scores@nomi email address, but haven't had a reply. I also tried my recruiter, no response from him either.

Most of what i've heard is that it takes about 5 business days to get the results, and while today is only the 5th, it'd still be nice to talk to someone and have them tell me the results aren't in, rather than waiting without a clue. Test results are one thing I have no patience waiting for, and these numbers will have a big impact on my future, so I just wanna know!

But anyways, I guess i'll take this moment to bitch about the test. My 'Aviation Supplemental' test was nothing but reading, which is my worst of all of the subtests. So that was a nice surprise, and hopefully didn't hurt me too much. Can anyone comment on if this is common for that section? If I end up retaking, I hope it's not that again. The math section is the only one I didn't finish in time, having to guess on 2 or 3. Those 2 or 3 were ones I had skipped because I didn't know how to do them, so I probably would have ended up guessing anyways. Mechanical was fairly simple, but they threw in a few unexpected questions, something about turbines. There was only a few I wasn't sure on, but I at least had an educated guess. Aviation/Nautical wasn't bad, again there was 2 or 3 that I just didn't know, mainly because it's nearly impossible to study for every possible question. Spatial apperception was easy, very similar to the arco but with much more diagonal out to sea / along coastline questions. If you have a system ready you should do fine. I finished all sections but math with at least a minute to spare to look over my 'unsure of' questions.

But thats about it, i'll post some more gouge once I figure out if my scores are actually high enough for me to permit doing so.. Whenever that may be.

Relax bud...I know you're anxious to find out how you did, but you have to have patience. The people at NOMI are all very busy, and I'm sure notifying applicants of their ASTB scores ranks pretty low on their priority list. I had to wait almost 3 weeks to get mine. :)

I sent you a PM.

Hah, I remember talking about the written/computer ASTB with you: I see you weren't able to take the computer version. I'd wait and then call/leave messages (determination is one thing, but I'm sure "over"-persistence can get annoying). It may say 5 business days, but from everything I've read it is closer to 2 weeks minimum. Sounds like you probably did very well; let us know how you did, when you hear the big-results, assuming you didn't get a 40, 3,3,3, or so. :D

Is this the last part of your package? Good luck man

Thanks, and yeah its the last part. I'm getting my PRT over with on Friday and was hoping to submit my package that day as well, thats why I need these results so soon (well and that its driving me crazy not knowing). And yeah nobody ever called me back after leaving a few messages up in Jacksonville to take the computer exam. I'm starting to lose faith in govt. productivity!

With the new monthly limit in place for the boards it doesn't look like i'll make it to the October boards anyways, but I still want to submit it ASAP.

Chill out! Damn. It took the LT at my unit like 3 weeks to get scores back when I took it.

Recruiter called me back later in the day. I got a 8/9/8 61, so i'm psyched!

BTW I know i'm impatient, but it still seems odd to me that I got the answering machine every time I called over a 3 day period.

I am sure that you are just going to LOVE military life if you have a little problem with impatience!! Congrats on your score and good luck.

Best to do everything through your recruiter. Jumping the chain tends to piss people off, don't ask me how I know.
