IWC Board Nov 20

That is a little unclear. The December dashboard had a footnote that said kits received by NRC prior to 1 Nov would go to board and be processed even if the designator was marked "red" for closed out. Otherwise, the key for "red" designators on the right of the dashboard clearly says "Designator is closed. Applicants will be pushed to next FY." Out of the IWC, the only two marked red are Intel and Oceano.

Caveat: I do not work for NRC or any part of any command related to OCS or selecting candidates.

My interpretation as a YN is that they were saying that the Sep-Oct-Nov (aka Q1 FY21) was going to be the only board for FY21 for the designators they marked red as of 1 December. The fully inclusive list as of then was SWO, SWO EDO, SWO IP, SWO OCEANO, SPECWAR, EOD, PILOT, OCEANO, INTEL, and CEC DA from the GENOFF section (normal OCS accession).

My interpretation was that they had a certain number of minimum seats they needed to fill for the year and they were going to aim for that with the Q1 board, but otherwise for those designators they were going to shut them off. That can be due to an enormous number of reasons that we are never going to know.

Therefore, I am not sure there will even be an March 1830 board. Rather, I think there will only be an 1810 and 1820 selection board and anyone that applied to 1800 or 1830 will get automatically pushed to the Q1 FY22 board. This is my opinion based on the way things are normally written and the wording on the dashboards.

However, as I said, I do NOT work at NRC or any related element or command. I am making suppositions based on my experience as a YN.

thanks for taking the time to respond; i wonder if the next few boards this year will instead just start selecting for FY22 if FY21 quota is met. the schedule below shows FY21/FY22 for a number of boards through June with that designation.

Yes, but that schedule was published in May of 2020 and there have not been any updates to it since. So given what the dashboard says, I am sure that those boards may be "held" but will likely just be 30 minutes of them convening and pushing everything to FY22 before adjourning.

Also, IP an CW are NOT on the list of closed designators. That means that out of the IWC, they are definitely still going to meet regardless of if I am right or wrong, based on the information currently published.

edit: And just to make sure we are all on the same page, here is the board schedule from the NRC website. I am not doubting the accuracy of the one you posted, I just want to make it clear that this is the most recent one from the NRC sharepoint:

thanks for that schedule, if it's what's on NRC site i'm sure it's the latest. however, the schedule i linked to was posted by an OR at the end of last year, so hopefully it wasn't too out of date. both still show March 1 IWC as a FY21/FY22 though, unless i am misunderstanding what that means or just reading something wrong.

No, I think what it means is that the schedule itself is grossely out of date. Remember, the "closed boards" thing was posted in December 2020 (technically November 2020 but it got pushed one month) on the dashboards and nowhere else that I can see. Meanwhile, that schedule was posted in May of 2020, 7 months earlier.

Also, an IWC board will still meet, just only CW and IP according to my interpretation. The Intel and Oceano candidates will be pushed.

While we're waiting- has anyone here had any experience with taking Calc or Physics after receiving their degree, to boost their application? I'm AD and currently deployed, trying to figure out what the most efficient way to improve my package would be. I'd have added my info to the spreadsheet, but the internet here is limited.

I’m currently doing this through AMU. Feel free to hit me up.

Does the CW result list say anything pro rec-N but received a pro rec Y for another IWC designator such as INTEL?
Yes, it lists 2 names with the notes "PROREC 1st Choice 18200," one that is "PROREC 2nd choice 18200," and 3 that are "PROREC 1st Choice 18300"
