Here's the best way to quit:

Define a quit day. Not a quit pack, or a quit cigarette, or a quit event. A quit day. Let's say that quit day is Monday, August 20th. On Sunday evening, right before you go to bed - throw out all your lighters, cigarettes, etc... and then go to bed. When you wake up, you're a non-smoker. If you wait to finish a pack, there's always another one at 7-11...

Here's the best way to quit: (followed by a nice little mind game which may or may not work) ...
OR ... you're a 3-4 pack a day "relaxer" and you have your time in the barrel some night at the blunt end of a pitching deck 'cause it's black as hell and you can't see, and it's raining, and you left your "cheaters" in your stateroom when you changed flight suits and your backup pair of "cheaters" has just been dropped under the ejection seat and cannot be reached .... ....

.... and to add insult to injury, the B/N has better eyes that YOU --- he just can't "do it at night" at the ship, ergo -- he's a B/N.

I guess the moral of the story is .... don't change your flight suit. :)

To think that all that time I was doing it wrong - I used to change my flight suit after a dark and rainy night at the boat...
