LASIK for SNA?

So I have to get the waiver after I get the surgery? I was under the impression I needed to get the waiver before the surgery so as to not DQ me. How readily does MEPS grant the waivers?
The waiver is nothing to worry about as long as you have all your pre and post-op paperwork in hand and have had no complications with the procedure. It's just documentation that you have had LASIK.

The way it works is having the surgery DQ's you, and then 6 months after the surgery you can apply for the waiver. Unless there are any significant complications (dry eye requiring regular use of eye drops, haze/blooming issues at night, etc.) then waivers are readily available.

Okay, that makes sense. Does that mean that I could get the surgery this summer, say, keep the documentation, and then give that to my recruiter when I start that process? I'm still a sophomore, so I'm not going to be OCS bound for a while still and LASIK sounds like it would be pretty great in general.

Yes that would work. As long as you submit the paperwork to MEPS >6 months post-op you're good to go.
