I just took ASTB form 1 and got 6,8,6. I was wondering how everyone else here stacks up in comparison. This is not a bragging thing (well I guess it kinda is) its more to see where you stand on weather or not it would be to your benefit to take it again. For those of you that dont know the score is good for life. But If you take it again the score that counts is the last test that you took NOT the best. More specifically I was wondering how the scores of the NFOs and Pilots on this post were when they took it. That way we can see where us wannabes stand in comparison. (maybie what point in your training or carrer you are in now and what aircraft you are flying or will likely get would be cool to know as well)

Thanks alot!

Well hot shot looks like your just smart enough to be dangerous. But I don't think any of that matters for pipeline or airframe selection. Everything is done by NSS score and while you may be the smartest in your office you WILL not be the smartest in your training squadron. At least for me I noticed a huge difference in the caliber of my peers when I went to OCS, TBS, API, Primary but I know I have a descent score going into advanced since I chose helos with jet grades. Don't worry about your ASTB though I know it's just something you recently completed and you are hungry for any training military. You will have plenty of time to compete for the coveted one Navy jet slot out of primary. Good luck and there is nothing you can do short of instrument flight training that will put you ahead of the rest, you just have to deal with it. Sounds like you will make it since you have the right competative nature, you should make an effective killer.

Also took it once, 9/9/9/74. But I almost didn't get SNA. Service selection took place a couple of months before my unit had expected and I didn't have a current flight physical submitted with my post-PRK vision. That was a fight. My XO mistakenly told me that I had been selected for SNA and felt so bad about it, he personally took it upon himself to see my package resubmitted and transitioned to SNA. And after all that, I ended up going to Wright-Patt AFB for a year to get my master's degree. Now after a year since commissioning, I'll be rolling into Pensacola June 21st, with a report date of July 2nd. Man, I can't wait to get back to the Navy.

I took the astb once...9/8/9/74...guess i got beat by a point...oh well...

kray, what did you get your master's in? did you go to U dayton for it? I live down in cincinnati and have been applying for a variety of navy jobs and I also got accepted into a grad program at U dayton...so now im just waiting to hear back about getting accepted or not.

No, I'm at the Air Force Institute of Technology. It's a new joint program between AFIT and NPS. They select a few mids each year to get their master's degrees before going on to initial training. Here at Wright-Patt, we're all getting master's in aero engineering. We're all either mechanical or aero majors and selected for SNA. I've onlt been down to a couple of the U Dayton bars but other than that, I don't know a whole lot about that school. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

I just took the ASTB for the third time and scored a 48 on the OAR. I was denied officer selection the first time because my score was a 37. I was wondering when is the best time to resubmit my application.
