...anybody brew their own beer? I've been thinking of trying it at some point...the recipes I've been shown don't seem that hard.

A couple of my friends have a little microbrewery of their own going(using said recipes)...and surprisingly it turns out at least better than any of the generics.
Or so I hear...

Just make sure you clean the bottlecap.

Yes, brewing is fun and relatively easy IF you are a meticulous person. During some parts, sterile technique is necessary. There are lots of good recipes out there with step by step procedures.

I have seen a few new brewers get carried away with "creativity" and not pay attention to the basic science of brewing. The result is usually something foul. I have done a couple of batches and I used to grow hops in the back yard. I would recommend it as a hobby.
