This is true. I can speak for the 53 only. We have heading hold and coupled pedals and some other gucci'd up stuff. We have a mixing unit for the flight controls that compensates for all of the power inputs, yadda yadda yadda....
However in the end, this stuff can fail and you end up flying the helo like a helo.

All a crutch, we have none of that, its all done by the pilot, our SCAS helps but it doesnt hold shit. WE shoot PARs from the front with no VSI-you get used to it.
